As part of our virtual Youth Leadership Program in 2021, the Emerald Necklace Conservancy is opening up select sessions to youth not enrolled in the program. These sessions will cover a range of topics, from Environmental Science to Environmental Justice to professional development and leadership, and are FREE and open to educators and all youth between the ages of 14-20. All sessions will be held on Zoom.
Employment opportunities for youth in the Emerald Necklace parks
The Youth Leadership Program (YLP) is a program for youth ages 15—18 that focuses on developing leadership skills. It also enhances communication skills and deepens life science and park maintenance knowledge. YLP is geared toward youth who have already completed Green Team or a comparable youth employment program in the environmental field.
The Conservancy partners with the USDA Forest Service on the Youth Leadership Program.
Emerald Necklace Conservancy Youth programs are generously supported by Cummings Foundation, The Manton Foundation, Charlotte Foundation, Bank of America Charitable Foundation, Hamilton Companies Charitable Foundation, Jane B. Cook 1992 Charitable Trust, Red Sox Foundation and The Paul & Edith Babson Foundation.
