Learning Under Leaves: Canopy Classroom

 

What makes trees grow big, and how do you tell them apart?

The Conservancy is teaching 2nd and 3rd grade students to answer these and other big questions about our natural world on field trips in the Emerald Necklace Parks!

The Canopy Classroom Outdoor Education Program welcomes students in spring and fall for environmental education consistent with Boston Public School science curriculum standards as well as the state standards.

More than 123 students have already participated in a Canopy Classroom field trip. Learn more

Fens: A New Gardner Museum Installation in the Back Bay Fens

From our friends at the Isabella Gardner Museum: Artists Teri Rueb and Ernst Karel have created a new way to experience our parks. Fens is a free app that generates an auditory environment in response to a participant’s location as they explore the Back Bay Fens. This and many other sound experiences is part of Listen Hear: The Art of Sound, an exhibition that will open at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum on March 8 and runs through September 5, 2017.  Learn more
