Patricia Ligia Trio
Patricia Ligia Trio is a jazz power trio featuring Santiago Galeano (Argentina) on piano, Carles Pereira (Spain) on drums, and Patricia Ligia (Uruguay) on bass. Formed in Boston, in the midst of the Berklee College of Music experience, the unique background of each band member puts on the table a whole new palette of colors, and offers a peculiar take on Brazilian and Latin music in general. Heavily influenced by the sounds of the “Río de la Plata”, Ligia’s Trio takes the best of three worlds to converge it into an unforgettable music experience.
Patricia Ligia is a bass player and composer from Montevideo, Uruguay. She started in music playing piano at the age of 9 but not until she was 14 she grabbed the electric bass and immediately fell for it. Patricia’s musical training is very diverse, a mix of self-taught and formal academic; always in pursuit of her musical concerns and interests! Her curiosity led her to establish a musical relationship with her neighbour country, Brazil, from an early age. Patricia is currently living in Boston and has recently graduated from Berklee College of Music in Jazz Composition.
Rukan and Dan are performers and educators originally from New York. They share a deep love for the Great American Songbook and playing music that brings together generations of people. A duo of Dan the multi-instrumentalist and Rukan, a vocalist and voice teacher, their sound is eclectic, joyful and easy on the ears.
