Join the Afrimerican Academy as we continue to BRL88 journey through Dorchester and Mattapan, exploring the intertwined histories of African American and Jewish American communities who shaped Boston’s social, cultural, and moral fabric.

This tour, inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of the Beloved Community, invites participants to reflect on cooperation, cultural equity, and shared resilience in the face of redlining and urban renewal.

We’ll explore key landmarks that represent both solidarity and struggleuncovering how faith, art, and neighborhood life formed lasting bonds across cultural lines.

Boston Redline 88 (BRL88) is a month-long cultural campaign produced by the Afrimerican Academy celebrating 88 years since the 1938 redlining map of Boston. Through film, tours, and dialogue, BRL88 reclaims space, challenges inequity, and nurtures the vision of Rev. Dr. King’s Beloved Community.
