Employment at the Conservancy

The Conservancy staff is a small, committed team of parks advocates dedicated to the mission of preserving and activating the Emerald Necklace. Prospective employees can look forward to being part of a group that values communication, coordination and collaboration as it tackles the challenges of caring for more than 1,100 acres of public land. In addition, the Emerald Necklace Conservancy offers a range of internships for college credit, work/study and co-op programs.

Crew Leader

The Emerald Necklace Conservancy is seeking qualified applicants for a temporary position to lead, teach, and inspire crew members in our summer youth employment program. The Green Team is a unique and exciting program that employs young adults and combines work in the fields of conservation, gardening and park maintenance; with environmental education, nature connection, and outdoor adventure activities. Each crew leader is responsible for creating a rewarding, safe and productive experience for the ten crew members between the ages of 15-18.

Summer Program Assistant

The Emerald Necklace Conservancy is seeking a qualified person to assist in administering our summer youth employment program, The Green Team. The Green Team is a unique and exciting program that employs young adults and combines work in the fields of conservation, gardening and park maintenance; with environmental education, nature connection, and outdoor adventure activities. Working with and reporting to the Director of Education, the Program Assistant will be responsible for the day to day logistics of running the program, some administrative work, and some leading of environmental education, nature connection and team building activities. This position also works with and supervisors 2 Crew Leaders. This is a temporary full-time 40 hour a week exempt position, that runs from Monday, June 1, to Friday, August 14, 2020.

Internships

TerraCorps is an innovative national service program helping communities conserve and secure land for the health and well-being of people and nature. Using the AmeriCorps national service model, TerraCorps prepares and mobilizes emerging leaders to help strengthen community-based nonprofits working to meet these goals.

Members will serve in full-time, 11-month terms (August 31, 2020 – July 31st, 2021) in which they complete at least 1,700 hours of service with one of our partner organizations. Members receive a living allowance, education award, and additional AmeriCorps benefits (see full list at end of announcement).

The Emerald Necklace Conservancy will host a Land Stewardship Coordinator and a Youth Education Coordinator for the 2020 – 2021 service year. Information about all TerraCorps positions is available at terracorps.org.
