Youth Landscape Architecture Studio
In June 2021, our first ever Youth Landscape Architecture Studio (YLAS) wrapped up with incredible final presentations from the inaugural participant cohort! Since April, the team has learned about landscape architecture, community engagement, the Green New Deal and the Franklin Park Action Plan. Each of four sub-groups of students reimagined a different area of Franklin Park: from educational signage to detailed planting plans to site sections and maps, each team member brought a unique perspective on how this public green space could be improved for the community.
A huge shoutout to our amazing participants, program partners, sponsors and everyone who made this pilot program a success.
The Youth Landscape Architecture Studio is presented in partnership with the Boston Society of Landscape Architects and Boston Architectural College.
This program is generously supported by the Massachusetts Energy Marketers Association, the Nebraska Soybean Board, Sasaki Foundation, Stoss Landscape Urbanism, Agency, OJB Landscape Architecture and Reed Hilderbrand.
