Cara Gilman

Yogini, marathoner, cyclist and boot camp enthusiast, Cara Gilman is a lover of movement. This combination of strength, endurance, flexibility and mindfulness brings balance and grounding to her life and she incorporates these same elements into the yoga and cycle classes she teaches and the runners she coaches.

Teaching is Cara’s passion and it radiates in the classroom. She is genuine, approachable and inspired by her students. Her classes are challenging, dynamic, thoughtful and showcase her high energy and optimism. Cara hopes to have each and every one of her students feeling better from when they arrived, whether it’s rediscovering a sense of confidence, being inspired to take on new challenges or feeling more grounded and at ease.

Cara is forever grateful to her teachers who have supported her and inspire her teaching: Bonnie Argo, Chanel Luck, Lynne Begier, Sage Rountree, Seane Corn and Shiva Rea. (excerpted from CaraGilman.com)

Dan Steel yogafest

Dan Steel

Dan Steel first discovered yoga when he walked into a free class on a whim while still in college. Having a background in martial arts and gymnastics, he was immediately drawn to the physically demanding aspects of the practice. Not long after establishing a regular asana practice he began to recognize its potential for healing and self- discovery. Dan believes that the strength, flexibility, and balance cultivated in the body can be reflected in the mind.

Dan Steel has completed the 200-hour Foundational and Advanced trainings with Ana Forrest, as well as a 200-hour Vinyasa training through Back Bay Yoga in Boston. He has also studied Budokon Yoga with Cameron Shayne and is working towards his certification in that style. In Dan’s classes he strives to offer a platform upon which students can explore and develop a heightened sense of body awareness. (Excerpted from DanSteelYoga.com)

Izzy VanHall

Izzy VanHall spent her formidable years competing at the national level in gymnastics, rowing and track and field. She knew how to perform, propel and press forward with intensity and grit. Growing up, Izzy and her mother also practiced yoga together, fostering her interest and skill development. Years later, during Gopi Kinnicutt’s Bhakti Flow workshop in 2007, Izzy signed up for a 200-hour YTT and she knew she was exactly where she needed to be.

Later that year Izzy found the practice of AcroYoga and instantly fell in love. In 2011 she became an AcroYoga teacher which enabled her to evolve into her role as a mentor. This, combined with her experience assisting and facilitating teacher trainings, has empowered her with the tools to offer meaningful reflections to teachers and to support others in their expansion.

She has studied with Shiva Rea, Dharma Mittra, Bonnie Argo, Gurmuk, Jenny Sauer-Klien, Jason Nemer, Lynne Begier, Krishntaki, Kaline Alayna Kelly and many more. She is a Certified Level II AcroYoga Instructor. (Excerpted from backbayyoga.com)
