Virtual Events Continue – Winter on the Emerald Necklace

Our popular annual series of summer events, Summer on the Emerald Necklace went virtual this year with a slew of virtual programs and resources for park lovers of all ages to enjoy from home, or while on a socially-distant walk in the parks.

This fall and winter, we are excited to continue virtual programming into the colder months by offering more online yoga classes, park tours, a trivia night and so much more!

Children’s Drawing Contest

Our first-ever Children’s Drawing Contest! Park lovers ages 2 – 12 were invited to enter their best Emerald Necklace-inspired drawing, painting, collage or any two-dimensional work of art for a chance to win an ENC coloring book and to have their art featured on brand-new Conservancy notecards. We received 27 submissions from kids of all ages, view them here!

Saturday Storybook Readings

Join the Emerald Necklace Conservancy for a Saturday storybook reading with the Conservancy’s Tess O’Day. Each event will feature one story and include one or more take-away activities. Tune in on YouTube Saturday, January 16 at 10:30 am for the next winter story. Ideal for kids ages 5-12.

Digging the Muddy

We’ve paired up with Charter Contracting Co. to bring you family activities to watch and learn about the Muddy River Restoration Phase 2. Check out our map of safe viewing locations to spot unique equipment like the amphibious “Marsh Buggy” and enjoy the coloring pages at home!

Emerald Necklace Bingo

A fun activity for kids of all ages. Discover new parks, hidden gems, plant and animal life, all while learning more about our parks and enjoying a fun Bingo game with family or friends.

Saturday Storytelling with Valerie Stephens

Stories are told to entertain, teach a lesson or to record a historical event. Enjoy unique virtual storytelling events with Valerie Stephens on YouTube. Ideal for kids ages 5-12 and complete with take-away activities.
