Learning Under Leaves: Canopy Classroom


What makes trees grow big, and how do you tell them apart?

The Conservancy is teaching 2nd and 3rd grade students to answer these and other big questions about our natural world on field trips in the Emerald Necklace Parks!

The Canopy Classroom Outdoor Education Program welcomes students in spring and fall for environmental education consistent with Boston Public School science curriculum standards as well as the state standards.

More than 123 students have already participated in a Canopy Classroom field trip. Learn more

The Emerald Necklace is said to be the heart of the Fenway neighborhood, but it is also home to the meandering Muddy River, which serves a practical and vital role to the neighborhood as well as an aesthetic role.
