SUMMARY:Parks as Platform: JP Porchfest by Dunamis Boston at Jamaica Pond
DESCRIPTION:For Olmsted Now\, the Emerald Necklace Conservancy expands its annual free event series Summer on the Emerald Necklace into a shared resource for cross-neighborhood collaboration and community-generated public events from April through October 2022. \nEach month\, the Conservancy will collaborate with a site partner to anchor programming with extra support: securing permits\, coordinating volunteers and providing amenities like signage\, presentation/performance/convening space\, portable utilities and restrooms\, food trucks and more. The goal is to increase park access\, amplify partner capacity to welcome expanded audiences and maximize impacts of diverse public offerings using the parks as platform. \nAugust Parks as Platform:\nPresented with Dunamis Boston\, organizer of JP Porchfest \nThe next Parks as Platform will extend this annual neighborhood tradition to the park and transform the Jamaica Pond Boathouse into a lively “porch” music venue! JP Porchfest has been a pillar to the JP community since 2014\, bringing together performers and local neighbors for a day of music\, dance\, theatre and more on porches throughout JP’s central streets. \nArtist Lineup:\nHazel Afrodite – 12:00-12:30pm\nR.O.D. – 12:30-1:00pm\nAnju – 1:15-1:30pm\nKDuran Music – 2:00-3:00pm\n[60-minute intermission]\nSaafyr – 4:00-4:30pm\nFull Color – 5:00-6:00pm \nAlso featured:\nReachYou\, an immersive augmented reality installation by Katrina and Jonah Goldsaito
