SUMMARY:BRL88: Prepare & Repair Symposium
DESCRIPTION:All roads lead to Hyde Park for this powerful community gathering focused on healing\, collaboration\, and collective impact. \nStart your day in peace\, reflection\, and renewal. The Prepare & Repair Symposium begins with a morning community healing session featuring sound healing\, guided meditation\, and acupuncture—designed to center the body and spirit before our day of collaboration and dialogue. \nAfterward\, join the Afrimerican Academy and partners for a powerful gathering of nonprofits\, advocates\, and community leaders focused on the theme “Collaboration as Restoration.” Together\, we’ll explore how unity and cooperative leadership can heal the social\, economic\, and cultural fractures of our city. \nA highlight of the day will be the Hyde Park Equity Tour Virtual Preview\, showcasing our collective work to build an inclusive cultural and economic roadmap for Boston 250—connecting stories of housing\, heritage\, environment\, and equity. \n  \n\nRegister here! \nAccessibility: The venue is wheelchair accessible. To discuss disability-related accommodations\, including ASL interpretation or captioning\, please contact Samantha Benoit at sbenoit@afrimericanone.org as early as possible before the event. While we may not be able to provide every requested service\, we will do our best to work with you and connect you with available resources. \nBoston Redline 88 (BRL88) is a month-long cultural campaign produced by the Afrimerican Academy celebrating 88 years since the 1938 redlining map of Boston. Through film\, tours\, and dialogue\, BRL88 reclaims space\, challenges inequity\, and nurtures the vision of Rev. Dr. King’s Beloved Community.

SUMMARY:Conversations with Olmsted— Designing Belonging: Inclusive Access in Public Landscapes
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Olmsted Network\, this Conversations with Olmsted webinar will feature speakers including Austin Allen\, Moderator (he/him)\, Kai Lawrence (he/him)\, Alexa Vaughn\, ASLA\, FAAR (she/her)\, and Finnegan Shannon (they/them). They will discuss how Frederick Law Olmsted designed parks as social infrastructure\, meant to serve the widest public possible. This panel makes that ideal explicit\, exploring how accessibility design fosters dignity\, agency\, and participation in parks and other public spaces today. Through case studies and critical perspectives\, speakers will consider how Olmsted landscapes can adapt to contemporary access needs without losing their historic character or civic purpose. \nRegistration is free\, though you may choose to make a small donation in support of the Olmsted Network’s programming. Please register here! \nOlmsted Network is committed to making this webinar accessible to everyone. Live captions will be provided via Zoom transcription. If you have specific accessibility needs or require accommodations\, please let them know when you register.
