December 5th - December 7th
For the second year, the Emerald Necklace Conservancy and the Franklin Park Coalition presented Nature's Gems: an exhibit and sale featuring works from local artists inspired by nature and community along the Emerald Necklace. Nature's Gems is a benefit to support the Summer Youth Green Team in their work and restore the woodlands and parklands of the Emerald Necklace; all proceeds go towards these programs.
Residents of Dorchester, Boston, Jamaica Plain and the surrounding areas gathered at the William Devine Golf Clubhouse in Franklin Park throughout the weekend. The event began on December 5th with a Special Preview Reception and Silent Auction. Attendees had the opportunity to meet the Artists and bid on select pieces from the exhibit. The Art Exhibit and Sale took place on Saturday, December 6th, featuring Gallery Talk with Candalaria Silva, writer, former Director ACT Roxbury, and on Sunday, December 7th.
This show was co-curated by:
Brenda Atchison and Ekua Holmes
The Conservancy would like to thank everyone who helped to make this year's Nature's Gems art exhibit and sale such a wonderful event. Whether you attended the Special Preview Reception and Silent Auction or just came to view the exhibit, your support makes these events possible.
