Jackson Chan

My name is Jackson Chan. I was born Jia Cong Chan in China. I came to the US with my mother when I was one. I have grown up and lived in the same neighborhood, Mission Park, ever since I was two. I am now eighteen years old and very close to graduating high school. I currently attend Boston Latin Academy. My favorite class is world history. Besides from being an honor roll student, I play the flute for my school's wind ensemble. Outside of school, I enjoy playing basketball and going out with my friends. I also have a strong interest for music. My favorite genre is rhythm and blues of any language such as French and Arabic. Because of my strong admiration for international music, I have a passion for learning languages and about different cultures. My native tongue is Chinese and I am currently learning Spanish, French and Arabic.

As for my future, I am going to college this coming September which is most likely to be Boston University. The major I will study is international affairs, but I will also be searching for a secondary major that I would like to take on. I will apply for study abroad to China one year and Morocco another year. I plan to take part in graduate studies as well. For now, I am focused on college and am uncertain of what career I want to pursue. I do know that I want to travel around the world and maybe even help those struggling in third world countries.
