Crew 1 - Back Bay Fens/Riverway: Week 2

Tuesday, July 13th - Today the team weeded out the Special Needs Garden located in the Victory Gardens. The Special Needs Garden was really a mess but we did a lot of work to the path and areas surrounding the path to make it look perfect. Later in the day we started to transport compost, which consists of broken down materials such as weeds, soil, and sticks, from pile to pile. While we were working, an elderly lady came up to us and thanked us for our work as she then went on to say that she use to do the same work but now she was to old for it. While working in the Special Needs Garden I learned how to properly use gardening tools.

Wednesday, July 14th - Today was the first Environmental Education Day I took part in at the Conservancy. The entire Green Team went to the Museum of Science for the day. I’m sure the rest of the crew had fun even though I was disappearing all day to look at all of the exhibits. I had the most fun at the electricity presentation. Overall it was good to have a day off from working hard and just relax and have fun.
