Backpacking Trip: Jay

I had an excellent time on the camping trip. When we got there we stayed at Cardigan Lodge. We made dinner then we ate and cleaned up our mess. Then I made my trail mix for my lil snack for in the morning. After we finished making our trial mix some of us went outside in the dark to just look around. We was mad scared but we was just trying to have fun. Then we went in and packed our stuff for the hiking. I took a shower and we were sitting there playing cards, talking, laughing. Some of us went outside again because it was extra dark and were trying to see if we were scared; and we were. Some of us were running, some of us were laughing, it was just crazy, but I had mad fun and I wish I could do it again.

When we got up in the morning we made breakfast, and we were preparing to leave to go on this little hiking trip. Some of us were mad amped to hike up this mountain. But once we got half way, we were a little tired. I was mad thirsty and drinking mad water. Some of us were changing clothes because it was hot. After our break, we started hiking again. We got like half way and sat down to have lunch, just enjoying the view, seeing how far we had hiked. Then we headed off again to hike up to the fire tower on Mount Cardigan to relax. Once we got up there, it was mad windy, I was loving the wind because I was so hot from hiking. We hung out, relaxed, ate, put our feet in the water that was snow two days before. There was still some snow. We took a bunch of pictures and we saw a couple of dogs up there and I was like, woah, dogs are hiking too!? Then we headed off to the High Cabin.

The slope was really steep; some of us were taking our time to get down there. Once we finally made it down the steep part of the mountain, we were just ready to get to High Cabin. We were tired and just wanted to go lay down and hang out, play cards. When we got there, we pumped water from a stream then hung out for a while. Kate taught us a card game called Egyptian Rat Screw, at first I didn’t even know how to play, but I became the master (except for against Kate because she is the best!). Some of us were sleeping, but Jeff and me were mad bored and were trying to play cards while everyone was trying to sleep. Then we heard this knocking on the walls, but me and Jeff just kept playing cards because we thought it was Raynel. No one really knew who it was. I was so scared. Then Val joined us. We was playing and I beat them; I always win. Then I heard the knocking again and everybody was knocked, and I was like “Kate, Kate” but she was out. Then we booked on the bed, but I forgot the flashlight was on, so I told Franklin to turn it off because I was too scared to turn it off. And I had to pee, but I couldn’t go outside, I was too scared after hearing that knock on the wall, I just wanted to sleep. Finally I went to sleep.

We woke up the next day and it was time for us to get our stuff ready to hike down to the lodge. We hiked and we saw this waterfall on the way down, it was so pretty. I didn’t know you could drink water from up there, it was pretty good. We finally made it back to the lodge, and the van was unlocked, yay!
