Our trip to the mountains of New Hampshire was lots of fun and nothing like anything I’ve done before. It was truly a great experience and I encourage everybody to try it. Once we reached Cardigan Lodge and we all took our headphones off our ears we all noticed that our ears were ringing like we had just been on a plane. It was dead silent in the mountains. I’ve never been in such a quiet and peaceful place before.
After we spent the night at the Cardigan lodge we were packed and ready to head out to climb the mountain early in the morning. Not knowing what to expect we were all excited and kind of nervous. So we walked for minutes, then those minutes turned to hours as we passed through beautiful scenery. Then we started seeing snow on the ground meaning we were reaching the top. When we finally reached the top of Mount Cardigan it was so exciting and we all felt so proud and accomplished of ourselves, it was like nothing we’ve ever done before. We then got to relax and enjoy the view from high above everything before we made our way to High Cabin where we were spending the night. Once we where at High Cabin we went to go refill our canteens with water from a river nearby. Dave had to use a filter to filter out the bacteria so we can drink clean water. There was also no light out there and the bathroom was a hole, so these were all new experiences for us all.
I really enjoyed this trip because it took me out of my daily routine and into a whole new environment that forced me to do things in a more different and natural way. Great experience and I wouldn’t mind going back.
